Meet the executive board

Below is our current Executive Board for the 2018-2019 school year. These nine young professionals are the hard-working undergraduate students who keep this organization running firmly.

Year: Senior
Majors: Marketing and Management
Ben is a current senior studying at W. P. Carey and is also a Barrett, The Honors College student. He is the proud creator of this updated website. During his tenure at ASU, Ben has interned with FOX Sports Arizona, Phoenix Rising FC, and most recently returned from a summer in Los Angeles at Creative Artists Agency. He has also volunteered for the Arizona Cardinals and NCAA Final Four Phoenix. Ben is originally from Chicago – so he enjoys the mountain views and constant sunshine in Arizona. Ben currently has Seattle on his radar as the city prepares to bid for NHL and NBA expansion teams and would love to work there.

Majors: Business Communication and Sports & Media Studies
Sherrick has been a proud member of SBA since his freshman year. The organization has provided him numerous opportunities to network with both professionals in the sports industry and gain experience in the industry by volunteering and interning. He has volunteered for the NCAA Final Four, Arizona Cardinals, and the Waste Management Open. Last year he interned for the Oakland Athletics, Phoenix Mercury, Phoenix Suns and the W. P. Carey School of Business, and currently interns in the marketing department for the Arizona Diamondbacks.

Major: Sports & Media Studies
Ryan is a current Sophomore in Barrett, The Honors College. Ryan is originally from Las Vegas, Nevada. On top of working his position as Vice President of Finance for SBA, Ryan also works full time as a Student Manager for the Arizona State Football team. Ryan is also a proud brother and Treasurer for the Sigma Pi fraternity. In the summer of 2017, Ryan was fortunate to study abroad in London. Ryan is eager to continue learning and growing as a young professional in the sports industry.

Year: Sophomore
Majors: Accounting and Sports & Media Studies
Kyal is entering his sophomore year at ASU where he is double majoring in Accounting and Sports and Media Studies. In his time in Arizona, he has interned with Sun Devil Athletics Marketing and Game Day Presentation as well as worked for the schools official athletic team shop. Kyal is from a small town in Idaho, but came to Arizona to escape the cold and pursue his dream of working in professional baseball.

Majors: Business Law and Sports & Media Studies
Elyse spent a majority of her life playing basketball and traveled throughout the US with her teams to National tournaments. She is now serving as an Assistant Coach for Varsity Girls Basketball at Chandler High School. Elyse’s passion for sports has led her to pursue a career in the industry and she is eager to continue growing and gaining experience. She firmly believes that nothing compares to the power of sport and hopes to be involved as much as possible.
Jacqueline Benson

Major: Sports & Media Studies
Jacqueline is a junior from Arizona and is currently a Corporate Partnerships Intern for the Arizona Diamondbacks and also works as the Community Relations Coordinator for the Miracle League of Arizona, a non-profit baseball league for individuals with special needs. During her time at ASU, Jacqueline also has interned for the Oakland Athletics and has experience with the Arizona Coyotes. She is passionate about community affairs and youth sports development, and aims to make a difference in the lives of people through sports. Jacqueline was a competitive figure skater for 13 years, and still enjoys the sport in her free time. She also loves to do pilates, hike, read, and spend time with her dog.
Mark Hunter, II

Vice President of Operations

Year: Junior
Majors: Business Management and Sports & Media Studies
(Gator) Mark Hunter is a Junior from Chandler Arizona double majoring in Business Sports and Media Studies and Business Management. He came to ASU after serving a 2 year LDS mission on the island of Samoa. While at ASU, Gator has held worked in various positions at Cicero Prep Academy, the Arizona Cardinals, and Sun Devil Athletics. Gator currently works with ASU’s football team as a student field/equipment manager. After graduation, Gator plans to become a graduate assistant and pursue a career in collegiate athletics.
