Diamond Dollar Case Competition
The 2nd Annual Diamond Dollars Case Competition, being held this upcoming March 7-9, is currently accepting applications to participate. Undergraduate, graduate and law school students from colleges and universities across the country will be competing against each other by preparing an analysis and presentation of a baseball operations decision — the type of decision a team’s GM and his staff is faced with over the course of a season. Five-person teams of students will be asked to evaluate proposed player transactions, apply statistical analysis of player performance and assess the financial impact of the team’s proposed moves. As a case competition participant, you would be entitled to attend, at no additional charge, SABR’s Baseball Analytics Conference–3 days of expert panels, guest speakers, research presentations, and networking events. More information can be found here: http://sabr.org/analytics.
